I was wondering if anybody could help find my great grandparents marriage? Sarah Ann BOURNE came from Droitwich, Worcester born 1867 and Charles James MARCHANT born 1853 in London was living in West Riding Yorkshire around 1891.
Their first child was born in 1896 in Derbyshire but wasn't baptised until 1898 with their 2nd child in Bradford West Yorkshire, where they continued to live in and around until their deaths. I am wondering if this is because they weren't married until after their first child was born? I have searched for 3 years and can't find anything myself. Sarah's maiden name was BOURNE but I believe she married a Mr Oscar HYDE prior to Charles James MARCHANT, but I cant find a MARCHANT marrying a BOURNE or a HYDE (or HIDE which is the spelling on one of their childrens birth certificates). I also know that Oscar HYDE did not die until after 1908 when he remarried, so I assume their was a divorce between Oscar and Sarah before she started having children with my great grandfather
