What's the context?

Could it be ABPO ?

There's a list of Canadian service abbreviations here but I don't see A.B.P.

There was certainly a No 1 Canadian Advance Base Workshop, a Canadian Ordnance Corps/ CREME unit - could the last letter be a W??

"1 Canadian A.B.P." was a postal mark on a letter sent home from France in December 1944

ABPostal   Able Seaman (Postal)

From :- https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/eng/discover/military-heritage/Pages/military-abbreviations.aspx

Malky

Would the rank be used as a postal mark?
I think there must be another explanation for ABP to be a unit or location, but I'm struggling to find one.
Please help me to help you by citing sources for information.

Thank you Malky for the link to military abbreviations. I don't think it could be Able Seaman (Postal) as this was Army and inland, but have concluded from the list that it was probably Army Base Post Office - Canadian Postal Corps as ShaunJ suggests. Thank you also MaxD - I will check the envelope again to see if there is a missing letter - either O or W. Some of the postal marks are difficult to decipher - not too surprising given their age and given the way in which they were stamped (ink pad plus rubber stamp - reminds me of childhood and playing at Post Offices - bit different nowadays!)

ShaunJ has it, it is surely the next one down in the list cited by Flattybasher:

Army Base Post Office, Canadian Postal Corps
