Kareny,

If you have access to Find My Past (and sometimes you can access this in a local library if you are a member of that library) -- there is a record for a Donald Ross amongst the Chelsea Pensioners Discharge documents in the Military Records.

It is hard to decipher - but it looks like he was born in Kilmuir, Ross. He was a Sergeant at discharge aged 31 in 1803.

This Donald had served in what looks like the 75th Foot for 12 years and in the 6th ?? of Foot for 5 months at the time of discharge. He was a Labourer by trade. There may be other records for him on Find My Past.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
