John HYMAS born circa 1800 near Or in Great Baddow
« on: Sunday 11 March 18 08:16 GMT (UK) »
The IGI records for the PR’s for Great Baddow appear to cover up to Easter 1800 and then from approx Easter 1814.
Do the Parish Records exist for this missing IGI period ?

This follows on from a previous posting regarding this Parish, but is specifically for the John Hymas and or other siblings
Believed to have been children of Samuel and Elizabeth.

The records do appear to be in existence:

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks for everyone’s help on this.
John features in a number of newspaper articles , including details of an injury to his left hand losing the tips of his fingers in 1834. He made an application for support in Springfield , But was denied assistance, the overseers saying that as he can’t from Great Baddow, he should seek assistance from that parish. Further evidence that he did come from that Parish.
A further unidentified record is that of his assumed parents, ie Samuel Hymas and Elizabeth’s marriage.
A record of some description is in the Family Search archive from Essex  dated 1792 of a marriage between a Samuel Homas and Elizabeth Kilburn.
No other detail is provided.
