Hough of Macclesfield St Michael
« on: Wednesday 21 March 18 17:48 GMT (UK) »
I'm chasing a thread from an Australian/NSW family, based on the only information in a marriage certificate that Eliza SLACK was born in Cheshire and her father was Samuel HOY, SOLDIER, and born about 1825.

How she went from being born Eliza/Elizabeth HOY to Eliza SLACK is not yet understood and is part of the challenge.

At any rate, I have found the following birth in Cheshire and wonder if anyone can tell me if there's more in the entry (specifically occupation) or whether anyone can see any more info on the family based on other baptisms/deaths?

Name   Elizabeth Hough
Event Type   Christening
Event Date   18 Jun 1824
Event Place   St Michael, Macclesfield, Chester, England
Gender   Female
Father's Name   Samuel Hough
Mother's Name   Mary

Thanks,
matt

Baptism entry says that Samuel and Mary are living in Hurdsfield, and that Samuel is a Silkman.  The BT's confirm this.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.
