Does anyone have any information regarding Robert Aitken born 1829 in Glasgow Scotland to parents Robert Aitken born 1800 and Helen McDonald 1807-1872. When Helen applied for poor relief she stated that Robert had gone to Australia in 1853. Don't know if this was true as she appeared to tell wee fibs. Any help would be great Thanks.

Thank you Rosie and Sparrett for your replies to my request. I think the Robert Aitken that Rosie found is the right one as there are a lot of Hector Aitkens' in family and I think Robert Aitken seniors father was named Hector Both my father and brothers Forenames  and middle names are Hector Aitken.   Robert's mother was named Helen and one of the children appears to be named after her. I have not managed as yet to see the 1841 cencus. Sorry for taking so long to reply but had eye op last month and it has been acting up over the last few days.
