Elizabeth Aspinall born c1855 in need of a clean and maybe a dash of colour

I'm not sure of the date of this photo, regardless, Elizabeth is very much in need of a clean up to start with.  The quality of the photograph is not good, it's more like a drawing. 

If anyone would like to have a go at colour, her eyes were blue and hair dark.

The photo is not too bad actually unfortunately it's been painted over but there are possibilities.

I'm wondering whether the enhancement was done by the photographer?  I have some old wedding photos that seem to have a similar treatment.   :o :o
