Do you have the marriage certificate - how old is William?  Have you looked for him on the 1939 Register?

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

With the marriage being mid 20th century, I think your only course is to purchase the certificate.  The page number is quite high, so there is a distinct possibility that it was a Register Office venue.

There is the possibility that both are still alive - do you have any more information about them?

There is a William A Ash born in Bourne in 1918, who is still there in 1939, about the nearest person.

Death?

William Albert Ash  died age 78  (born 12th October 1918) in May 1997 at Peterborough.

Grant and will available.

But there are always births elsewhere and he moved to the area.

Thankyou again, he must have moved into my native place of Yaxley, and he became a schoolmaster/teacher, his son and my brother were pals.he son was born 1953ish,Thankyou, Margaret.
