Possibly Thady (diminutive of Thaddaeus)?

What is the record - PR, BMD, school register or other?

Ah brilliant thank you.

It's a census record. The family originate from Ireland so that would appear to be correct. It's not a name I've heard of before.

It’s the 1841 census, Donovan family in Brighton (headed by Timothy).  Thady is 12 b Ireland.

Thady was often used as a pet name for Timothy. In the Latin registers they put it as Thaddeus. It can also appear for the name Tadhg.
