Still searching for Dates Of Birth for ex Whitby Town players:

Can anyone provide me with the DOB of Harold McBurney of Oldham 1906 please ?

Have you tried the 1939 register 

It is possible to do a free search and play with the dates until you get a result.  I would normally would put in 1906 and as birth is registered in Dec qtr try those months first, then try the days of the month.

Just to add - Death registrations are not always reliable sources of birth dates as they rely on the knowledge of the informant.  I have tried a free search of the 1939 register using that date and there is a match though this register is also not always accurate either

I have a common name in Yorkshire of Butler.

I have a list of potential ones off of Free BMD. I can going to double check these with the GRO search of Butlers with mother's maiden names being correct as there were 4 brothers all playing for the club around the same era.

The 1939 might throw them all up at the same time. ... I'll post in the Yorks section if I get a few issues.
