Edward Frank (or Edmond Frederick) Bailey b1868 Lambeth
« on: Saturday 02 June 18 15:47 BST (UK) »
Hi,  bit of a strange one.

My Great Grandfather Edward Frank Bailey who Married Maria Hanna Burgess, was a very secretive Man,  he was always away and locked everything up,  Room,  Drawers and Cupboards etc,  he used to go to Gloucestershire often and Died in Tewkesbury,  My Great Gran only found out when 2 ladies turned up at his flat,  they did not know he was married,  said they had buried him as he had died,  he was buried as Edmond Frederick Bailey and I have the death Cert.  If anyone can find any further info re Edward as he seemed to live 2 lives the way it sounds and was a Jekyl and Hyde,  he did not treat his own family very well but apparently was completely different to these other people.

I would love to see if I could find any further info for my Mum (his Granddaughter) who is 89 this year

The person present at his Death in Tewkesbury was Elizabeth Amy Hartman, 7 Burman Street, London, SE1.

If anyone can find anything it would be appreciated,  I have his Birth,  Marriage and Census etc,  in 1881 he was listed as on a Shaftsbury Training Ship but unfortunately this records got destroyed.

Thank you in advance,  Sue Smith

Does it give any further information about this lady like relationship to Edward?

Who were the two ladies that turned up and buried him - any idea, were they neighbours or friends or something else?  Most intriguing!
Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Since you have his birth certificate with date of birth - have you found him in the 1939 register?

She was born Elizabeth Amy Fletcher, then became Northway then Wasley then Hardman.

She died in Gloucester in Dec 1/4 of 1980.

That's all I've found out about her so far  ;D
