Put some colour on a Rogers coat of arms
« on: Saturday 16 June 18 11:29 BST (UK) »
Is anyone able to ‘colour in’ this coat of arms please?
I can only find a black and white image.
I can do the bit of easy colouring! but have no idea how to mask one shape so you can colour in the background behind it. I need to go on a course.  :)

The description is:
‘Azure, on a chevron or, between three stags trippant argent and in the centre chief point a fleur-de-lis of the second, a bugle-horn sable, garnished gold, stringed vert, between two branches of oak chevronways, fructed and slipped proper’

Many thanks indeed.

I don't know how accurate this is, but all the crests online and there are very many variations, show a white background with a black chevron.  I cannot find this particular one with the fleur de lys, oak leaves and horn anywhere so am unable to copy the colours.
The description you give says azure, but again I have not seen one crest with a blue background. Have a look at Google images for Rogers coat of arms, there are many in colour on there.

The blazon reads: ‘Azure, on a chevron or, between three stags trippant argent and in the centre chief point a fleur-de-lis of the second, a bugle-horn sable, garnished gold, stringed vert, between two branches of oak chevronways, fructed and slipped proper’

"translated" into English, that is:
a blue background (azure)
With a gold chevron (or)
between 3 silver/white stags (argent)
top centre (centre chief point) a gold fleur-de-lys (of the second)
a black bugle-horn (sable) garnished in gold, with green strings
on the chevron, 2 oak branches in proper colours

Yes, I couldn't find a picture in the colours described - as KGarrad says - that's why I thought somebody on here might be able to do it.
It's from Armorial families by Arthur Charles Fox-Davies.

My attempt ;D
Some of the background colours need attention?

Thanks KGarrard.
I like the stags you have found - better than the weedy looking ones on the original image I've got!  :)
