Salerno

Hello

My Father was in the Royal Navy - Aircraft Carriers for most of WW2...

and you know what they were like... they never talked about anything that happened.

I have often wondered .. he mentioned a Scar .. and a lot of time spent in a hammock..

But not a lot else.

anyone able to fill me in on the events of our Invasion / deployment of Salerno at that time.. I am attempting to search for his Records again..

to see if I can find the name of his ship at the time.

will be back with that one if and when its found.

So someone who knows the Salerno Story - please advise ... would be nice to hear what it was all about. in a language that I can understand.

thank you

xin

ps Pops was John Sutherland born 9.9.1920 and he served in both Royal and Australian Navy.

I know his original forms are filed safely in this house!!! but they were very old and tattered so not really legible.. New ones will be great.
