Need help dating photo of baby William

I’m trying to date this photo and have two options…1898, 1901 or 1874

Inclined to think it is 1898 or 1901.

I would agree not 1874.

I'd say definitely not 1900s, doesn't have the turn of the century clothing style that is very stereotypical in most photos and movies from that era.

The wire frame bonnet says 1870s fashion, but it could just be an old hat too.

I did a restore of the photo and also include an example of an 1870s simple wireframe bonnet comparable to what she may be wearing.

Just my 2 cents.

I immediately thought the oldest date but am no expert.  It just has an early feel to it.

Not 1870's. Her skirt is too plain & there's no bustle.

Agree with Jim - not the 1870s. I have a photo of an ancestor in 1904 with  similar outfit - but not the hat!
