Elizabeth Smyth

I'm having trouble tracking down an Elizabeth smyth born cira 1862. Her Mothers name was catherine (from Dublin originally) and her father was James Smyth (from Belfast).

Elizabeth appears in 1901 and 1911 irish census married to Patrick Bradley - Elizabeth's birth cert would really help!
Draperstown: Trowlan, Quinn, Convery, Kelly, McKenna, Griffin, Sergeant, Hamilton, Taylor.
Monaghan: Duffy, McArdle
Sligo: Egan.
Mayo: Loftus.
Dungannon: Reilly, Milligan, Ryan, Harte.

You have posted this on the Lancashire board, is this where she was living prior to 1901.

I'm not sure the 1901 and 1911 has her living in Belfast but her place of birth is down as Liverpool England. I can't find a birth entry for her in Ireland - not sure where best place to find her birth cert online for England.

she must have had family there - her son James smyth Bradley went on to fight for Loyal Lancashire Reg. in WW1 and died 28th April 1917.

The GRO index or freebmd is the best place to search for an English birth certificate but births were not always registered around that time.

How do you know about her parents

Hi,

There is an online tree who has Elizabeth Smyth born 22 Nov 1860, Liverpool, parents John Smyth and Catherine Fegan. Unfortunately they don't back up the birth with any evidence  ???

Always best to err on the side of caution where other trees are concerned, however sometimes they can be of help but as yet I cannot see Elizabeth's birth  ???

rosie I have her marriage certificate to patrick Bradley in 1880's and it states her father's name as James smyth her mother catherine was living with her in Belfast in 1901 which is where i picked up her name.

This Elizabeth is transcribed as 4 yrs but looks to be 4 months
