Alfred Taylor born where in Kent ?

Alfred Thomas Taylor was born in Kent (East M???ing - doesn't look like Malling), according to the 1891 census. At this point his age was recorded as 25. He was lodging at Paddington Green Police Station (Civil Parish: Paddington; Sub registration district: St Mary Paddington; Piece: 4; Folio: 100; Page 32). I have found mis-transcribed as Allen Taylor. On 22nd August 1891 he married Ellen Brooker at St Mary's Church, Paddington Green. He gave his age as 26 and his father is John (deceased).

Can anyone help me with his place of birth ?

Which would seem to fit.

East Malling is one of those place names that isn't spelt as it sounds.  Moreling rather than Malling.  You should try Trottiscliffe

All your feedback is greatly appreciated and I have now found his parents' marriage in 1845, as well,  and all relevant census entries.

I totally understand about the pronunciation of Malling which explains the 1891 census entry. I'll explore Trottiscliffe but would like to tell you, bearkat, that I am familiar with Happisburgh (Norfolk) and Milngavie (Scotand) !
