So the totals will be less - unless they are counting the the number of purchased tests, even then three family members have paid for ancestry and ftda

Mine too. However, bearing in mind that ancestry and 23andMe don't accept uploads from other companies still at least 14 million.

Yes, there would be many double ups - people who have transferred results to FTDNA or My heritage, plus people who have purchased more than one test. e.g. I have purchased 2 tests (FTDNA & Ancestry) and transferred results to My Heritage, so I would show 3 times I think, maybe 2. The total number of people who have tested may be something like 75% of the totals given, maybe.
