Amended

Hard to distinguish the groom’s first name possibly Benjamin Cock and Judith Kingsbury.

Second witness James Mott.

That is all I can make out.

Addition.
They both appear to be otp, bachelor and spinster, married by Licence.

And also a baptism
12 June 1791
Benjamin son of Benjamin and Judith Cock.

Family Search is wrong, the Parish Register shows the previous entries on the page are  marriage 13 in 1778, marriage 14 in 1781, marriage 15 in 1782,  the relevant marriage is number 16, in 1784.

Hi
I agree that the groom is Benjamin cock.
The marriage is definitely 1789. If you look carefully on the Parish register where the date is written in words, it says 1789.

Nanny’s is obviously seeing something I can’t, the written date is so very faded.

Hi Jebber

I agree - it is very faded. I think the years in numbers are the confusing part at the top of the entries. They just seem to be the period the marriages were between e.g. marriage 15 says 1782-3 at the top, but the year in writing says 1783. Never seen that before - very odd. Can’t imagine why they did that but seems to in the same hand as the original?

On marriage 16, it says ‘1784-9’ at the top.’ Must have been a very small village in the 1700s - only 3 marriages in eleven years. The vicar either earnt very little or had an easy life! The writing of the ‘eighty’ part is more faded, but definitely nine at the end in words. I’m doing it on an iPad where I can make the image bigger and brighter? (Also, just got my new glasses. 😂)
