I am looking for all Tait and Danson in the 1796 directory. Yes, it is the families of W W Tait and Jane Danson.
I've been researching the family for over 20 years, and have quite a lot of info, but just don't have the 1796 Liverpool directory information.
Hoping it will help answer questions such as was James, W. W. Tait's father, back from France, where it was supposed by the family that James, a barber-surgeon, (he died in 1803 in Lancashire and he isn't in the 1790 directory) had been guillotined during the French Revolution ? Where was W. W.'s mother, Jane Tait nee Watson (she died in 1800). Who supported Jane and W. W. from c. 1783 to 1800 ? The last record I have of James, other than his death, is a Assignment of Land from Thomas Gilbert to James Tait in 1783.
Was Thomas Danson, Jane's brother, a merchant in Liverpool by 1796? Is Jane's brother, George Danson, in the directory ? They were both at one time in business with W W Tait.
Hence, the "all Taits and Dansons" in 1796.
I don't have a Richard in the family of George Danson and Jane Mattson, but I could have missed one. In general, W W Tait and the Dansons were merchants and commercial agents during that time frame.
Thank you to everyone for their replies. You guys are great.
