I am now certain this is my Grandfather and am going to send for his death certificate, just really to see if cause if death and next of kin are mentioned.

Hi All,
 I got a PDF copy of the death certificate from Kingston and it is my Grandfather, I cannot believe it, all these years I have been barking up the wrong tree! I was always led to believe he was killed in WW1 and in actal fact he died of Septic Pneumonia and Influenza, his occupation was a Munitions worker in an aircraft factory and death informant was his sister Evelyn. But now I have another mystery to solve, he died at 3 Windsor Road, Teddington in the district of Kingston, so what was he doing there, I need to find out what the connection is, I could start by finding out if that was his sisters house, althoughI have found a picture of the house and it is very grand!Her married name was Evelyn Watson....why was my Grandmother not with him and what I still cannot understand is why no one in the family spoke of this, my Grandmother was part of our lives, I was in my 30’s when she died. Any help out there with a Teddington/Munitions factory link?

Thank you for the update and pleased the death certificate was the correct one for your grandfather.

Hopefully someone with knowledge of the area maybe able to tell you if there was a Munitions factory close by - have you tried to google it?

The Pelabon Works 1914-1918 were staffed by refugees and wounded soldiers it was a hand-grenade factory in Twickenham

There was a massive aircraft factory in Kingston, so maybe Roland made Munitions there, they have an archive department so I have emailed them asking if they can give me any further information. I will open a new thread regarding any information about his sister, maybe I can trace a living relative.
