Are these the same young boy please?

I would appreciate opinions on whether these two boys could be the same person. Both the backs are plain.

Added: Now I see them on here, I'm not so sure so maybe they are Brothers.

I don't think they're the same either. In fact the 1st. might be a memorial photo.

I agree with jim.  I think they are not the same and that the first one is a memorial to a dead child.

I agree with the others, the boy in post one has a wider nose and mouth. I also think it is a memorial photo.

Thanks for your responses...it's as I thought...Thanks Jim, I thought it was a memorial photo taken from a group photo.
That helps a lot and clears up a mystery.
What date would you put on the first photo Jim?...early 1900s?

Difficult to give a date. He looks to be wearing what was called a jolly tar, that's a sailor suit to you & me.
Popular in the 1890's & early 1900's.

Update: I have since learned that this young boy lost his life in a drowning accident when he was eight years old. So it looks like you were correct.
