Judge - County Mayo
« on: Saturday 11 August 18 13:43 BST (UK) »
Hello my family is new to this site. I was hoping for help with information on the Judge family from County Mayo. I have been able to trace family history back to the late 1800s, with Mary Hagerty marrying Patrick Judge. When we visited Bonniconlon. We visited the church they were married, but was told records were burned in a fire. I was hoping maybe someone has information that could help. The Judge surname is Irish, not English. Was trying to post photo of family Crest, but file to large.

Welcome to RootsChat
Was in a RC or COI church they were married in?
The RC records start 1844 for marriages and 1870 for births

Hi, i have JUDGE in my family. Bridget Judge, a convict sent to Australia in 1813 aged 17. Im not at home at the moment but off the top of my head her trial was in Co Kildare and if i remember right her father's name was Andrew.
If you think you might be related to Bridget [probably a long shot] let me know and i will check my notes more once i get home.

Wouldn't worry too much about trying to post the 'family crest'- most of the time they are inaccurate.

I found a Patrick Judge and wife Honor Connor in Bunnyconnellan East with children but you said your Patrick married Mary Hagerty-

Can you tell us what details you already have about your family and let us know exactly what you'd like help with?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Late 1800s is a bit too vague, some idea when the marriage happened would help.

If It was Mary and not Patrick that was from Bunnyconnellan than perhaps this family is connected

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

The poster been has been able to trace family history back to the late 1800s, with Mary Hagerty marrying Patrick Judge.

So the one 4 years married in 1911 probably isn't him!

Some FACTS would be needed!!
