Ancestry Raw Data download link
« on: Wednesday 15 August 18 12:22 BST (UK) »
Hi there
Just wondering how long you guys had to wait to get access to your Raw Data ?

I received my DNA results through Ancestry about 10 days ago and requested the link for the raw data download. It seemed to go well and I was told to check my email. Nothing happened so I read the list of FAQs where I learned it could take up to 24 hours to arrive.
Next day, still nothing.

So, every day I have requested the link and the same thing happens every time.
No, my Inbox is not full.
No, it's not in Spam.
Yes, I used the correct email address
I've also emailed ANcestry but  no response.(nothing new there)

Can someone reassure me that the link will turn up or advise me as to what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks
Rebel

Mine was within minutes back in May.  Sorry I have no idea what, if anything you are doing wrong.  Could be a glitch somewhere.

Are you clicking on the 'go to settings' under the  DNA Circles Section of your DNA home page?

If you click on this 'go to settings' you will get a page which shows this (see attached) on the right hand side, Click on the Download Raw Data and it will download automatically.
direct you to the next page

I've been getting the email link in about 10 mins, sometimes less.

Wondering if you've ticked the agreement tick box - I've marked with a red dot.

Just read that you said you entered your e-mail address - it's the Ancestry password that you need to enter not your e-mail.

added - just done a test request and had the e-mail from them in 45 secs.

Same as others, very quick response, within minutes. Data downloaded within at most quarter of an hour.

Maybe unrelated, but in the past few days, all of the photos attached to my tree have disappeared and I am unable to invite anyone to see my tree via their username. Are ancestry having a major glitch at present, or are these things unrelated?

Thanks for your input.
What I meant was I have the correct email address attached to my Ancestry account, both email and username continuously in use at Ancestry since 2003 !
Yes, I request the raw data as Gadget describes and get the "Almost there " screen and am told to check my emails:

After that , nothing happens , no email.
And this is MY data  I'm trying to get my hands on!

Re your question about tree access.

I have had a problem over the weekend with accessing a Private Tree which I had permission to view,
the original request was made by the owner to Ancestry last Friday but nothing happened and he repeated the request on Monday, the e-mail granting permission came from Ancestry on Monday but I still could not get in,in the end I found the owners name in the members list and accessed it that way ???

I was about to post a reqest for help on this forum!
