I didn't see this as a uniform more of two best dressed Sisters for a photograph. It's a lovely image and not unlike many that I have seen before.

Don't get too carried away. These are variations of the sailor suit popular with girls as well as boys from around the 1890's up to around WW1.

Thanks Jim. That gave me an idea so I messaged a friend of mine who is heavy into charm collecting and he sent this pic. It's most likely the charm around the girl on the rights' neck. I'm told it is much more common to find this with a diagonal anchor through it and this could be just so overexposed in that area that those pieces don't show up very easily. But this is an example of the kind she seems to wear.

Addendum: during the coloring of the image, the definition in the globe starts to show. If it is the charm he shows, it looks like the image may be reversed, but that's just me hazarding a guess.
