I see what you mean but at least looking for Smiths and Walshes from Mayo you will always find hundreds! Augustine has disappeared and Austin appears on one census and that's it...nothing.

Augustine Jennings b.abt 1860 Arrived New York 1885 from Liverpool via Queenstown. Naturalised 2/8/1889. Residence New York. Could be him.
Also an Austin Jennings b.1859 also bound for Americas but in 1880.
