Leonard H Bennett
« on: Monday 27 August 18 06:47 BST (UK) »
May I have your help please?
Leonard H Bennett was born in 1913 at Hampstead the son of Albert and Kate Farley. Their aunt Ada Mary Bennett was the daughter of Richard John Bennett brother of Albert.
Ada married and immigrated to Australia in 1921 and unfortunately any connection with the family in England was left behind.
Would any one have any records of Leonard's family (he died in 1988 at Kingston upon Thames)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From his death entry we know that his DOB was 08/05/1913.

Might help to find him in 1939.

There is a possible marriage

1930
Leonard H Bennett and Gladys L Hirst

But Gladys L might be a sister according to ColC’s post  :-\

He would only be 17 also so not likely after all.

To Carol, Louisa, Heywood, Colin, Hanes,

Many thanks for your replies, it looks like 1988 (Leonard's death) is the furthest back I will be able to go, I was hoping there may be some relatives of my grandfather Richard John Bennett. Richard my mother's father served in the Boer War, after his death in 1910,my grandmother remarried and they emigrated to Australia, so contact was lost, hence my curiosity to find my relatives in England. Leonard's father Albert was Richard's brother.
Regards, Pam....Sydney :)

Pam, do you have that 1988 death cert?

The informant may be a family member that would help us follow through with more up to date info.

You can obtain it for £9-25 (albeit by snail mail) from the official GRO site.

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Or get a copy of the will that hanes teulu suggested earlier today, that will cost £10 but they email it to you when it's ready,so not as long to wait!

Regards

Carol
