That's very kind, but since his parents were already dead by 1853 I would say unlikely, though you never know sometimes, a sibling...only if it is of no inconvenience, thanks :)

Sharon, I can photograph the deceased estate file found by cupoflife the next time I am at the Archives but it is unlikely to have any info about his parents.  But you never know ...

From the shipping her parents were Robert Stoney/Stoner/Stone and and Ellen/Eleanor
I haven't chased up her death, baptism was 1810

Hi there,

Do you have copy of the 1874 marriage, (#2448) registered Goulburn district?  If it has those elusive blanks for his parents details, can you please advise the denomination/clergy who conducted the ceremony, as from that information it should be possible to seek out the original parish register which should show ALL the information given by the bride and the groom when seeking to be married.

See http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=546609.0

There seems to be a very long delay between when he died in 1887 and when duty was paid in 1927 on the Deceased Estate.

NSW Electoral Roll 1870 GOULBURN
William Henry WILSON, Auburn Street, Goulburn, residence

NSW ER 1878 GOULBURN
William H WILSON, Montague St, Goulburn, freehold
Robert S WILSON, Auburn St, Goulburn, residence
William WILSON, Wayo St, Goulburn, household

ADD
Grevilles 1875 PO Directory GOULBURN
William WILSON, Auburn St, Printer.

JM

JM, the ship Henry arrived on had 27 ‘Wilson’ on it. There was a William and Robert. Brother to Henry, maybe. Could be why he went back to Goulburn upon death, and how he came to be there to marry Rebecca.

WILSON Henry 41 Beejapore 1853 Sydney and/or Newcastle   and family   Reel 2136, [4/4790]; Reel 2464, [4/4929]

I can’t see a death for a Grace Wilson with parents Robert and Ellen.

 :)

I remain convinced that the information he gave the clergy when marrying Rebecca in 1874 needs to be considered for one of the questions he would have been asked was the names including the nee name of both his parents.  Other questions include where born, age, occupation, status ....   The Official Transcription (less than $20 Au) would provide the same info as the real deal cert, and it costs less, and will have sufficient info to know which denomination (Anglican v Roman Catholic) to then find where the original parish registers are currently held - seems likely that the registers have been filmed  :D

Indeed, there are 18 people who have him in their tree with the wrong parents, I have messaged them all.
Maybe one of them will think to buy the certificate :)

Have you searched TROVE ?  Free site for newspapers covering early 1800s to 1950s.
Goulburn NSW had several papers.
