« on: Sunday 09 September 18 13:53 BST (UK) »
Hello all does anyone have connections to my great great grandfathers family Thomas Toal
sometimes Tole.
He trained as a vet at Edingburgh vets school early 1800's.
Married Selina or Lenny Macmaster her family Scots descent plantation people.
They travelled between Scotland and Northern ireland lived in county Down Newry area.
Donaghmore and Ardarrah.
All children baptised in church of Ireland from 1812 to 1835.
Sloane family connected to Toal had Scots connections.
Five of his sons emigrated to the USA between 1845-1855.

Hello BallyaltikilliganG. thank you so much for your time and trouble of posting all that info.
The only one I know on that list is my uncle John Tole married Agnes Frizzle Dec 19th 1845.
Her father William Frizzle.
John was the only son of Thomas who did not emigrate to the USA.
The family were Presbyterian but I don't think that marriages were allowed in that church earlier,
they had to be in the Church of Ireland.
Thomas Tole(Toal) children were,
Sarah 19th July 1812.
John 24th April 1814.
William Sept 8th 1816.
Margaret 29th march 1819,she married someone called Niblick or Niblock went to live in Scotland.
Thomas Macmaster Tole May 14th 1821.
James 3rd July 1828.
Hugh 8th Nov 1830.
Elinor Dec 1832.
David 10th Dec 1834 born Killmarnock Scotland.
Edward 1819 Ireland?.
Sam born 1823 Ireland?.
My great grandfather born about 1835 Ireland can't find bap for him was Robert youngest son.
What I was looking for was the marriage of Thomas their father and Selina (Lenny)Macmaster,
or any connections also to my great grandmother Agnes Sloane think her father was David.
The other thing the children changed the spelling of their name to Toal.
Thomas and Selina had connections to  Scotland.
I thought that someone out there might have a relative or two who could be related to either
side.
regards tobyma123. :)

Hello BallyaltiklliganG  thank you once again.
Samuel Toal(Tole) born 1870 was my cousin son of John Tole.
Married Sarah Ann Donaldson 1900 she was a teacher at the Shinn (school).
No children Sam died at Ardaragh 1913.
I am amazed to know that the Frizelle's were French Huguenot's.
I guess that Mary Brown was a friend or relative of Sarah's although I don't know her.
Where would you now look for Thomas and Selina ? I have been looking for their details
for ages and no luck.
They seem to have moved around a lot from Carnacally  to Lisnaree to Ardaragh.
Any idea's would be more than welcome.
regards tobyma123. :)

the wrong time frame, just opening another location possibility to the moving around pattern

switching to Armagh which has 80+ entries for the name Toal/Toale and variantts ie west of newry
1864 Griffiths valuation see http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/
Thomas T0*
Toal   Thomas   Carrickastickan Contd   Forkill   Armagh map ref 80
Toal   Thomas   Tievecrom         Forkill   Armagh map ref 77
Toale   Thomas   Ballintemple         Killevy   Armagh map ref 19&20
I think I can go no further
