A map would be much appreciated. I do know the area but I am not sure if I have anything that shows the machine gun post.

By the way, my husband (Don Regiano from the GWF) says hello.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,

The map I was referring to is the one in the 12 Div diary which is for August 1918 and shows the div area of operations below Meaulte.  36 Bde is on the left, 35 Bde on the right.  9 RF were on the right of the 36 Bde and thus his route that day would have taken him from, say, the T in BRITISH bottom left towards the X X which was where the RE were to establish a strongpoint once the first objectives (wiggly line) were taken.  A number of machine gun posts are marked although we cannot know which one (and others may have appeared) it was he took on so bravely and effectively.

Frustratingly, I can't seem to get it down to a size that will upload, you should be able to find it in the HQ 12 Div diary in the appendices to August 1918, image 67 if you are looking on Ancestry.  Failing that, send a PM.
