Ferozepore? is there anything there today??
« on: Thursday 08 September 05 12:37 BST (UK) »
Hi Military Buddies!!! ;D ;D ;D
How you all going?
I have been asked a strange question.
A very nice lady asked me to look into her Aunts and Uncles born in Ferozepore, India. between 1900 and 1909, I have found several. but she really wants to know about Ferozepore, is it still active, today, is there anything there today, I have found a little, about an explosion, back in that time, and Albert Medals, for bravery.
but she is more interested, in anything, there today?

I know this is difficult.
But, love to hear from you...

From the Columbia Encyclopedia.

Firozpur

(frzīpr) (KEY)  or Ferozepore (frzīpôr) (KEY) , city (1991 pop. 78,738), Punjab state, NW India, on the Sutlej River. It is a transportation hub and district administrative center, lying near the Pakistani border. Cotton and grain are traded, and there is some light manufacturing. The city, which also has three colleges, was founded by Firoz Shah Tughluk (reigned 1351–88), sultan of Delhi.
