« on: Wednesday 14 September 05 10:50 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to trace my gg grandfather Daniel Keefe born in Bandon Co Cork in 1847. His father was also Daniel Keefe and would appreciate a lookup of the 1851 census or any other information

Thanks,
Michelle

Hi,

The earliest surviving complete census is 1901. This is not indexed so you need an approximate address. 1911 census is also released. These are available at the National Archives in Dublin and on film at your local family history centre. (Church of the latter day saints)

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHC/frameset_fhc.asp for your nearest.

I would try parish records. Do you know his religion?
Also the Griffith Valuation of Bandon.

Follow this link to Griffith's Valuation of Ireland (1851) and you will see several Keefe's living in the parish of Ballymodan, which was on the south side of the Bandon River.  Bandon is divided by two parishes: Ballymodan on the South (St. Peter's Church) and Kilbrogan on the North (Christ Church).  These are probably your people.  I hope this helps.
