What about Rose Ann or Judith Annie in September 1890?
 ???  ???

Edit: Forget about Rose Ann - she's with parents Martin and Ann on 1901.

BUT I can't find Judith in 1901 (nor a death on FreeBMD)...

Cheers Tati, I'd best forget Amy then.
I have marriage cert  for Annie and her father is definitely Robert(deceased) shoemaker.

If anyone has got trade directory for Oldham, maybe Robert's in it, before1922, date of Annie's marriage, to Samuel Mason, widower. address 23 Essex St;  both Samuel and Annie( scandalous!)

Annie's birth still a mystery. ???

Pas de problème  ;)

Sorry, just found Judith's death too so back to the drawing board. Births for 1890 seem 100% covered on FreeBMD.

Did you know Robert is already dead in 1901?

RG13/3809
Folio 38 p. 15
Oldham, Lancashire
10 Newtown Place

Bridget Walsh, head, wid, 42, Cotton spinner, b. Oldham
Robert, son, 15, Iron moulders apprentice, b. Oldham
Annie, dau, 11, b. Oldham
Annie Whitisham, boarder, wid, 56, b. Ireland Cashal

Tanja  :)

PS: This seems to be the family found above by Dwalin. Robert is a 'French Polisher' in 1891, not a shoemaker  ???

Hadn't thought of WELSH!  This is the problem..I'm fairly new to this stuff. I'll try to find a Welsh, but no doubt you've already done so! :)

Found the Welsh Annie 8d 633 oldham. This could well be the answer to the mystery I'll send for the cert.
I'm really impressed with your help  ;D

Well, there is one registered in March quarter 1890.
If she was 10 months in April 1891, she would have been born in February so this could fit.

www.ancestry.co.uk (England and Wales civil registration index 1837 - 1983) allows you to search the FreeBMD database without entering a surname. Just entering births, Ann*, no surname, Oldham, 1890, this girl is the closest I can see.

Now, I'm not sure I would take a chance on this myself if she were mine, so be warned I'll plead 'not guilty' if you have another unwanted birth cert !

You're right( of course!)   I should think the 1890 is the right one. I'll risk sending for it! and will let you know if it's the right one
Thanks
