Brameld 1891 Brightside Bierlow
« on: Friday 07 October 05 10:14 BST (UK) »
I have just received the death certificate of Sophia Stacey 397 Carlisle Street Brightside in 1887 which gives the informant as Annie Brameld 3 Garter St Brightside Bierlow.  Never having heard of the Bramelds I wonder if I have the right certificate (everything else fits!).

Could some kind soul out there in the ether check on the Brameld family for me in 1891 please.  I am hoping that this might lead to a marriage of one of Sophias children which I did not know about.  Many thanks.

Here she is in 1891, with a little imaginative spelling...same address.

ANNIE BRAMHALD/HEAD/WID/40/YORKSHIRE, GRENSSIDE.
TOM BRAMALD/SON/S/17/STOVE GRATE? FITTERS APPREN./DERBYSHIRE, KILLAMARSH.
JAMES WESTON/LODGER/S/43/ENGINE DRIVER ON RAILWAY/DEVONSHIRE, BARNSTAPLE.

i don't suppose this really adds anything, I just had to find her once i started looking :)

on some of my family death certs. the informant is just a neighbour and/or mate ... and Carlisle St is just around the corner from Garter St, maybe they were just friends?

Lee

Thanks Lee that's most helpful.  It says on the death certificate the mark of Annie Brameld Grand daughter In attendance so I hope there is a daughter of Joseph Stacey that I have missed which will prove to be her.

Thanks for your help

That is super Arranroots - yes he is my Joseph now the only Census entry I do not have for him is 1871 - the only trouble is that Ann is 10 years out of kilter..  The first child I had for him was Arthur in 1862 then along came Emily1865 Walter 1867 Bertha 1868 Amelia 1871 Joseph 1874 and Herbert 1877.  All of which is very well but doesn't sort out Annie Bramald!  I will have to go back to the Wentworth Baptisms I have on file and see if I have made a glaring omission of a child for George and Sophia.  Sorry I'm rambling!
Once again thanks.

lol sorry i know this isn't 'my' family but i'm a bit confused now... the Annie Bramald on the 1881 and 1891 census is born in 1850/51 somewhere made up in Yorkshire. Whereas THIS Anny Stacey is born in 1860, Derbyshire ... is it the same woman?
