Hi Sandy,

Thank you for your kind offer.

I am trying to find Ann Wright born in Sheffield c 1846. Can't find it on FreeBMD or LDS sites.

In passing, I have a Frank Cheetham born in Sheffield c 1888,  married to an aunt of mine. She was granddaughter to Ann Wright.  Is he a relation of your's?

Regards,

Calmar

Hi Calmar,

Ann Wrights birth is registered in the Sept qtr of 1846 Sheffield XX11
589 ? not very clear.
If you want certificate you would be best ordering over the phone even if it's a little more expensive and explaining reference number is unclear.

Don't think our Cheethams are related

Hi Sandy;
Thank you for your offer. If you are able I would be grateful if you coud find either John Blythe b about 1880 at Jarrow or Margaret Blythe about 1885 at Jarrow. I an unable to find them on the free BDM site. Regards, Pam

Hi Sandy,
You are very generous.  Mine is strange one and I don't know if you can help and I certainly don't want you to squander credits if it is too unlikely to be found.

DEATH  Elizabeth Parrett (nee Evans) born c. 1816. Bermondsey.
Family belief is that she lived to 103 and that would mean she DIED about 1918!!  Does 1837 go that far?

Hard to believe that age, but I have no idea where or how I can prove or disprove it.  Please use you own judgement regarding assistance.

Hi Pam,

As you probably know Jarrow births were registered under S.Shields.
I have searched 1879-1881 for John and 1884-1886 for Margaret Blythe
and not found anything.
However I then checked under Blyth (without an "e") and they are both there
John        Dec qtr 1879 S.Shields 10a 672
Margaret Sept qtr 1884     "         10a 822

You will find both these on FreeBMd if you put Blyth in

Kind Regards
Sandra

Hi Sue,

Regarding Elizabeth Parratt - I have looked into the background a little and presume she marrried Robert Parrett in 1836 at Newington, Surrey.

I can find Elizabeth and Robert Parratt on the 1851,1861,1871 and 1881
Census's but not beyond that.(Some Census's say they were born 1817 and others 1821)
I can find the death of Elizabeth Parrett aged 64 in the June qtr of 1881
Woolwich (which covered Plumstead) 1d 632.
This would fit in with her being born in 1817.

Have you information that shows she was alive in the 1891 and 1901 Census before I start trawling through later deaths ?

Regards
Sandra

Dear Sandy,
You are certainly on to the right Elizabeth.  I have that marriage, but it was only discovered for me by a kind English friend at the Records Office, It took a bit of work for him so you are amazing to have dug it up.
 To the point.
Robert died in 1887 and his death place was close to his offspring, away from Plumstead
I think death in Woolwich is very likely her, especially with the birth date tallying so well. So,  just after the census.

No I have no evidence of her beyond 1881, only the family story.  I think it may have been another of those 'larger than life' tales.
Thank you for your work.  I shall send for the certificate and settle the matter . Sue
