Rowlands Talysarn, Llanllyfni

Please could someone look up the 1851 census for the area of Talysarn, Nantlle Valley. The area could be Llanllyfni as that is the parish.
I'm looking for John Rowlands who lived on a farm called Tŷ'n y Fawnog in Talysarn in 1861 (although I have not found that census either. John died in 1861 and by 1881 the family - wife Catherine, sons John and Richard - were still living on the farm.

I'm assuming that you don't have the 1861 for the family as you mention not having found John in 1861.

do you have an approx birth date for John - or a birth place.? I have had a look at the 1851 but can't find a John Rowlands in the Llanllyfni area.

I imagine he will be unmarried, possibly alone or with his parents, so a bit more information would help to find him.

The John Rowlands I asked for was my husband's great great grandfather born in 1820. As you saw on the 1861 census he had a son John who was my husband's great grandfather, he was born in 1858. I knew that the father, John, had died in 1861 but didn't realise his children were so young. I thought I would be able to find out more about him from the 1851 census.
The whole family seems to come from the Caernarfon area, particularly the Llanllyfni parish.

I can't find a Catherine Rowlands born in Llanllyfni on the 1851. John is hard to identify as we don't know where he was born.

I can find an entry for a John & Catherin Rowlands but Catherin was born c1819 in Clynog and John c1823 in Llanllechid - so not a very good match.

Sorry - I did try.

You've done so much work on my behalf.
Catherine was a Roberts before she married John Rowlands. I think my only chance of finding any more info is if I send for John's birth certificate so we will know who his parents were and where he was born.
