PASCALL Family - Shropshire
« on: Friday 09 December 05 11:22 GMT (UK) »
Is anyone out there looking for any Pascalls from the Lilleshall/Wrockwardine/Wellington area of Shropshire? I've hit a bit of a brick wall and could do with a bit of help.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Welcome to Rootschat.  What sort of help are you looking for.  No I'm not searching for the same name but if you could give more details then perhaps people could look for you.

Well My gt. gt grandmother was Eliza Pascall, I've found her and her family on the 1851, 1861,1871 and 1881 censuses. The family is as follows:

William Pascall Head born abt 1812 Preston on the Weald, Shropshire.

Sarah Pascall Nee Wood, Wife, born abt 1811 Wrockwardine.

Sarah Pascall Dau born abt 1837 Wrockwardine

Margaret Pascall Dau born abt 1839 Wrockwardine

Mary Pascall Dau born abt 1840 Wrockwardine

Elizabeth Pascall Dau born abt 1843 Wrockwardine

Eliza Pascall (my 2x gt gran) Dau born 18 dec 1844 Wrockwardine married Edward Austin (1844-1907) 15 sept 1866 at Wellington Parish Church came to Crewe Cheshire and had 10 children.

Jane Pascall Dau born abt 1846 Wrockwardine

William Pascall Son born abt 1848 Wrockwardine moved to Crewe, married Mary Adeline Pickering (1849- 1906) in 1871 in Nantwich Cheshire and had 8 children.

Dinah Pascall born abt 1850 Wrockwardine

Martha Pascall born abt 1852 Wrockwardine

Thomas Pascall born abt 1854 Wrockwardine

I would love to find out what happened to the rest of Eliza's siblings, as you can see I found William but not the rest.

OK here goes, I've been asked by a rellie of yours to be nice to you and I'll have you know this cuts absolutely no ice with me whatsoever  :P  I have to go out in a minute so I'll get back to you later today if I can, meantime, since they are mainly girls, can you tell me whether you have any ideas (maybe from family gossip, but it might be too long ago), or from your own investigations, whether you know if any of them married and who?  If you don't know, just confirm what is the last census you have them entered on, is it just the 1871 or do you have any of them in the 1881 after they have left home?

This is a start:
William Pascall died age 73 December qtr 1884 Wellington Sal 61 530
Sarah Pascall died age 72 December qtr 1883 Wellington Sal 6a 498

From the IGI, Parents William Pascall and Sarah
Sarah Pascall christened: 23rd April 1837 Wrockwardine Wood
Margaret christened 2nd June 1839 Wrockwardine Wood
Mary christened 30th March 1841 Wrockwardine Wood
Elizabeth christened: 21st May 1843 Wrockwardine Wood
Jane christened: 8th March 1846 Wrockwardine Wood
John Richard Pascall christened 8th April 1855 Wrockwardine Wood, Shropshire
Martha Pascall christened 25th May 1851 Wrockwardine Wood
Lucy Pascall christened 21st February 1858 Wrockwardine Wood
Lucy Pascall died December qtr 1859 Wellington Sal 6a 505

Margaret and Mary surnames are spelt Paschall

I'd be interested to know whether this was in a trade directory and does it give the occupation?

Mary,

All that you posted now makes sense. My Nan, who sadly is no longer with us, used to work in Wolverhampton and stay with Pascall relies. I found one in her address book after she died and contacted him. He gave me Fanny Rowlands name, he was from her line. That was some time ago and he was old then so I'm not sure if he's still with us. I remember writing it all down as it was before I had a computer. I'll have to root out all my old notes.
I had some of those christening details but not all of them, so thanks for that.
I have son william on 1901, 1891, 1881 and 1871 Censuses
I have Eliza on 1961 1871 1881 1891 and 1901

I've no Idea who the other girls married and as a result only have them on the 1871 and 1861 while still at home.

Thanks again for all the info, it gives me something to get my teeth in to. I really must find my box of written notes and get them copied onto the computer.
