Nick Barrett of WDYTYA fame, Jonathan Foyle, Curator of Royal Palaces and Miranda (with the long surname) from the Coast programme.

Today' was about smugglers in Cornwall and very interesting as well.  Basically they are using historical and documentary evidence to prove or disprove rumours and legends.

Oh Life isn't fair!!!

I returned to work today after 3 weeks of sick leave where I was bored by daytime TV!!

That's shame and I know what you mean about daytime TV!  I work Wednesday to Friday so have decided I am just going to have to video those days.  But Monday and Tuesday when I don't work lunch will be late and in front of the TV! 

At this time of year when I don't feel like going out on a Monday and Tuesday, I have to because there is never anything on TV that is half intelligent!

I've really enjoyed watching these programmes - you can tell I'm a stay at home Mum- I'm lucky as my little one is only in Nursery class in the mornings but we do have a fight about wether to watch CBeebies or History Mysteries-out come the paints at 3pm!

I did have a chuckle to myself yesterday - they were trying to map out a town that was washed away by the sea - the female presenter said she was going into the sea to find any artifacts, architecture etc.  She went in wearing a snorkel and a pair of flippers and seemed quite surprised that she couldn't see anything!  This is England love not the Caribean!

I thoroughly enjoyed todays episode about the mills as most of my ancestors worked in mills and I found out a couple of things I didn't know.

I agree, todays was great, didn't see yesterdays, but enjoyed their trawl around the town of Halstead Essex and the history of the Courtauld family.  Life in the mills was hard.....

Really excellent programme today - not just platitudes, but hard facts & the family history approach was very appealing!

I learned a great deal about mills - didn't know they had industrial scale operations in Halstead, for example.  The buildings were of interest too, as my ancestors were weavers in the Stroud valleys.

It is a shame they don't put dates on the prog schedules, but they seem to be doing them in sequence.

BUT they did change the time yesterday due to the bowls matches, so take care setting the video!

Made me laugh too, mind you she had to be brave swimming in that water, and quite heavily pregnant - or at least I think she is!!!
