1871 Census - Anne M Ledger
« on: Thursday 15 June 06 20:11 BST (UK) »
I would be grateful if someone could look up the 1871 Census for Anne M (for Maria) Ledger, aged about 8 years, living with her parents Charles/Ann or Charles/Elizabeth in Kent. Also born in Kent. She may be hiding under Anne Ledger or Annie Ledger.

John

Hello bearkat,

Thanks for your response. You have helped me in the past.

You may well be correct with Ulcombe which seems in the proper area. I'm not too bothered about it but my own guess, without having seen the entry, is Aylesford working purely on Higham Civil Parish which is in North Aylesford Reg. District. Also daughter Anne Maria was born in Hill Wouldham, Aylesford Sub-District, Malling Reg. District suggesting I may be right.
It's great - one minute you have conjecture- then next minute it becomes fact. A bit like the Time Team programme on the telly.

Regards
John

Hello again bearkat,

Well done - it's Ulcombe after all. My conjecture proved to be wrong- not for the first time!
Thanks for your perseverance.
