Hiya well im not sure if the people who helped on my last journey have wondered about how we are getting on .. but things are going well My dad is home from holidays and we are at the moment tryin to peice things together I have a favour to ask about another member of the family ...

Eliza Jane Butters Second husband was called James Blewett Born in 1849  in Penzance we think  ... they lived together in Buriton row and had four children We are trying to find out who James parents would have been and where they would have come from to try and get back as far as we can on his side as he is a direct decendant i would be really greatful is anyone could offer any help ... also  any info on Eliza and James children?? .... James born 1892.... Annie Harriot 1896.....Gracie 1899......and John 1901...

thanks for that info and thats what ive got already ,.. Its James parents im trying to find he was married to Eliza Jane we think ...

so would like to trace James Blewetts parents he was born in 1849 in Penzance area we think

any help would be brilliant he was also married to a Grace eddy before he was with Eliza

Hi Kirsty,

I've found, using the Freebmd site, a James Blewett birth registered June qtr, 1849, Penzance 9 201.  You can buy a copy of this certificate from GRO and that will show  when and where he was born, the names of his parents (including his mum's maiden name), his father's occupation and who went to the Registrar to register him.

You could then look for the marriage of his parents; as civil registration started in 1837 there is a good chance they married after that date.

Follow the instuctions, fill in the form, pay up and sit back and wait for them to arrive.

If you are sure he was born in 1849 that looks to be your man; however I had a quick look at the familysearch website and there were a couple of James Blewetts born in Cornwall around 1848 to 2 different couples!
