where's sandal?

I've just received the birth cert. for my grandfather, John Jones. On it it says he was born 1888 Haddingly Hill, Sandfollowed by the letters USD (I think it's that). Registration district of Wakefield.
I can't find him on the 1891 census but on the 1901 census his place of birth is Walton and on his army enlistment it's Wakefield. Is Sandal near Walton as I can't find it on a map?

Just to complete the explanation, USD stands for something like Urban Sanitary District.

A quick Google gives:

Urban Sanitary Districts existed nationally from 1875 to 1894. Their purpose was to maintain and improve public health services in urban areas, although they had more powers than Rural Sanitary Districts due to bigger problems.
