Hi Tati
           John Gosbee was born in Stone- in Oxney, :)  He married Rebecca Willis on the 4th May 1854. :D  On the certificate it says his father was William Gosbee :D  I am trying to find William with his family ::)  They also lived in Stone. :)
                                 Regards

Hmm. The one John (age 15 in 1841) I can see in Stone doesn't seem to have a father William ...  :-\

seems to match Tati's findings - and the 1851 pre-marriage...

no sign of a William ..

Just realising ( ::) ) John was born ca. 1825. Surely he wasn't the son of a 7 year old  :o  ;D

1851 says John is Elizabeth's son. (No father at home but she's 'married')

There is a christening of a William - 1812, so looks like George and Eliz's 1st born ..

Perhaps George was actually a William, but used George in day to day life ?

I wonder if there is a generation missing in that 1841 census ?

George would have been what - 32 ? in 1811; was it a 2nd marriage ? Are there older sons ?

Sadly the IGI doesnt seem complete for the Parish ....

But then again, if they had a William in 1812, he wouldnt be old enough either ...

Dear Tati
              John Gosbee was 31  on his marriage certificate and Rebecca was 24 in 1854.  ;) There is a James Gosbee as a witness. 8)  Maybe I have got the wrong John's wedding certificate do you think.  :-[ I wonder if you could find John's birth certificate  for me so i can find both parents.  ;)
