Hi Yorkshire Lad,

Could you give us a rough time frame?   :)

Sorry, I knew I forgot something. She was born around 1900 to 1910, and was the informant of her mother Agnes Ellen Uttley's death in February 1956, and living in Llandulas, Abergele.

Hmm. Not at all easy. I can see her family in 1901 (give me a shout if you need the details) in Hebden Bridge, which comes under the Todmorden registration district, but I can't see a birth in the same registration district on FreeBMD.

I don't suppose you know when she died? If you do, her death registration would show her age at death or even an exact birth date.

As for a marriage, you need to check every quarter of every year in the full index:

in the hope she married only once ...

Opps - I see you have a 2nd thread here:

The north Wales Bmd shows Nora Guest (nee Uttley) having a son, b. Rhyl in 1945.

I've not listed the name because of the likelihood that he is still living.

Rhyl was in the St Asaph RD.
