Interesting Idea for Cemetery Upkeep
« on: Friday 11 May 07 11:01 BST (UK) »
We have a lot of conversations on this site regarding the decline of cemeteries, and I thought this was fantastic:

This is in my hometown. I can't do it as I don't live there, but maybe I'll see what my mom thinks and get her to be my proxy.

Indeed that's a wonderful idea, Kath!

When you read the awful stories about what is happening to cemeteries in Britain, it is great to know that there are cemeteries being so well cared for!

Ours is looked after well, but we couldn't plant flowers - our water supply situation is too dire!!  :'( :'(

What a lovely idea. I believe the graves in France from the World Wars are looked after by local children which is why apart from the way they are laid out they always look perfect.

Pity all cemetaries couldn't have this. It would certainly stop the wanton vandalism by some youngsters who seem to think it fun to desecrate gravestones.
