A rare Welshwoman
« on: Sunday 03 June 07 02:55 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Another classic lady, although with a very different look indeed, and one which has forever passed as a way of daily life. Margaret Parry, born 1830 in Ffestiniog, and my gggrandmother. The photo was likely taken in the 1890s. This is the farthest generation back of which I have a picture, and I know I'm lucky to have it. Going to the photographer's must have been a very special occasion!

Would someone like to give Margaret a spruce-up? I'd be grateful!

Cheers,
China

Oh China

I thought you were referring to me when I read your subject line  ;D ;D ;D

I must get my hands on this one  - what a wonderful photograph. The Welsh woollen shawl as well.

It will be later in the day though - I'm busy entertaining at the moment.
