BLADES family on the 1841 census??
« on: Monday 11 June 07 17:51 BST (UK) »
Hi To All,

I am trying to find a family called BLADES :

I have them on the 1851 living at Low Abbotside, Yorks

WILLIAM BLADES Lodger b about 1799 at Lunds, Yorks
AGNES BLADES Wife b 1804 in Mallerstang
GEORGE Son? b 1832 in Mallerstang
PARKIN BLADES b 1829 in Mallerstang

I do not know of any other children, and would also be interested to find the surname of AGNES before she married WILLIAM.

I also have information on the 1851 census at Low Abbotside, Yorks :

JAMES BLADES Head b 1776 Smithy hill ( would anyone know where this may have been ?? )  I am wondering if he is connected to the above??

I would be so very grateful of any information on this family, I am looking on behalf of a friend who does not have access to a computer.  So I am hoping that I can try and help her find more about this family.

Many thanks,
Pauline.

Hi Pauline,

I have a Margaret Blades (wife of James Blade, High Abbotside) as a testator in the 1859 York Probate and the probate of a Richard Blades, Simonstone Aysgarth (near High Abbotside I think) testator Mary Blades. Let me know if these records could be of use to you and I will post or pm them.

Cheers

Hi Bron,

I would love to have a copy of these documents that you have mentioned.

I am very interested in regard of your mention of HIGH Abbotside, when I have spoken of LOW Abbotside.   Especially when this is with the surname of BLADES.

As I have said in my first e-mail, this family is not connected to myself, but to a friend who does not have access to a computer or the internet.

So anything that I can find, she will be absolutely thrilled with.

Thank you so very much for this, it is really appreciated.

Many thanks,
Pauline.
