Since quite a few of you seem to enjoy playing around with my pictures, I thought you might like this one. Not much hope for the faces, I fear, as they're rather out of focus, but it could make a lovely picture with some colouring. Unfortunately it was scanned by someone else in B&W at only 300dpi, and I don't have the original.
It was c.1919, and the little boy in his mum's arms was my father, but I have no idea what the occasion was.
Would it be a Romany caravan? Did people take caravan holidays in those days? The man on the caravan appears to be wearing a necktie, which doesn't suggest Romany to me, though I'm happy to be corrected by someone who actually knows about these things . . .
