Irish marriage certificates only give name of fathers (and their occupations). Am wondering what Elizabeth's father's name really was as Bazee might have been mis-read?
Aghaderg is a Parish in Banbridge area so that might be the place to check for more Cordners.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

IGI has submitted entry: William Bell Cordner (20) m.21 Sept.1860 Banbridge, Down, Ireland to Eliza Aldwell (19)- no father of bride given. Unfortunately there are no submitter's details there.

A marriage for a Sandys Cordner 1926 westchester (NY U.S. I imagine)  http://tinyurl.com/2vjfdm
( other Cordners listed as well...)

A link to the other query, as I hadn't remembered the marriage...just that mother's surname wasn't known....need to read it through myself...

Yes, another great find. (and will be back to that site to check for some missing relatives of mine!). Think Philip will be surprised when he comes back to Rootschat.

I read through, ( saw Sandys's marriage already found  ::) )  but still didn't catch it all,  it seems...as Alice WAS married more than once then?

I did find a Sandys birth around mid first decade  under another name on the BMD...

Surname was Powell I think...but then he could have been one of the other sister's sons as well....  Ohhh, I do like a good mystery...J.J.

Surprised does not begin to describe my feelings. I have been chipping away at this brick wall with a chisel and you wonderful people come along with sledgehammers, wrecking balls and bulldozers and reduce it to rubble! This is stunning stuff.

I would like to close this thread as I have another one running in the US immigrants section:
