New to researching Co Down *advice needed*

Hi Everybody,

I am new to researching my family in Co. Down.  I do not have a clue where to start with very little information !!!!

All I know if that my Great Grandmother Catherine RICE was born in Downpatrick, Co Down  abt 1867.

She married James WOODs from Bessbrook, Co Armagh, and by 1894 they are living in New York.  (But they would return to Ireland)

Please can anyone offer advise on where I should begin with this ????
