I'm trying to find out about William Edward Swift born 1885 son of James Swift who worked in a Chemical works. Not sure where William was born but he worked as a ship steward - merchant service on SS Somerset, Brocklebank Dock, Bootle in 1915. This was also the year he married my great grandmother Isabella McCabe (nee Campbell) at widow with 2 kids. William and Bella had one son, James, who died in New Zealand in about 2002. Does any of this match up with a William in your family?
