ref about children's home.
i went back to see Smyllum park in march this year, there is only one little bit of the main building left also the land in front. the rest is now housing estates.
i was there in 1957-1962 when i left, within 3yrs i moved to England i came back in 1995 to Scotland and had to see if it was still there thank god its gone.

I was also there from about 1959 until 1964 with my sister and brother. I have been back a couple of times over the years to visit my 'ghosts'. Not many good memories of a bad institution. I played in the band there for years and often got a hard clout across me head for mistakes, I was about 9 or 10 years old at the time.
Would like to hear from anyone else who was there about the same time.
